The
first School in Italy teaching the art of making stringed instruments
was founded in 1926-1927, as a part of the “A. Boito” Academy
of Music in Parma. Teachers were Gaetano Sgarabotto and Pietro
Sgarabotto.
This
School was replaced in 1933-1934 by the one in Cremona, under the
direction of the same masters.
The
School opened again in Parma in the seventies under the management of Maestro
Renato Scrollavezza and it remained part of the Academy of Music
until 1998.
